INTERCONNECTIONS, INC. OFFERS END-USERS, SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS
IPX/SPX API FOR CUSTOMIZED NETWARE-VMS CONNECTIVITY SOLUTIONS
InterConnections' API Is Industry Standard For NetWare-VMS Networking
BELLEVUE, Wash., May 14, 1993 -- InterConnections, Inc. announced
it will make its IPX/SPX transport services applications program
interface (API) available to end-users and third-party software
developers. The InterConnections IPX/SPX API is a standalone product
for programming customized NetWare-VMS connectivity solutions.
Internet Packet Exchange/Sequenced Packet Exchange (IPX/SPX) is
the Novell-proprietary transportation protocol used to exchange data
between the network server and client workstations on a NetWare
network. The InterConnections API permits data to be exchanged
between a VAX server and a client PC LAN.
InterConnections, based in Bellevue, Wash., is a seven-year-old
developer specializing in connectivity software for PC LANs operating
on Novell NetWare and DEC VAX minicomputers operating on VMS. The
company's Leverage for NetWare product line provides three essential
services -- file sharing, network printing and terminal emulation --
for NetWare-VMS networking.
An end-user need not own any of InterConnections' Leverage
for NetWare services to use the company's IPX/SPX API. The software

development tool can be used to write NetWare-VMS connectivity
solutions for corporate database programs, electronic-mail systems
and many other applications.
"Our IPX/SPX API is by far the most mature on the market, having
been integral to our Leverage for NetWare product line since its
inception nearly seven years ago," said Sharon Nagy, product manager
for the InterConnections software. "Though it is newly available as a
standalone product, it already boasts the industry's largest installed
base by virtue of Leverage for NetWare. Thus, it is the industry
standard for developing NetWare-VMS connectivity solutions."
InterConnections' IPX/SPX API transport services is available
to Leverage for NetWare customers and third-party developers for 90
days at no charge. Orders for the IPX/SPX API may be placed by
calling (800) 950-5773.
